Check out Toya Delazy’s new music video for "Memoriam" the sixth single off of Toya Delazy’s SAMA winning debut album "Due Drop Deluxe". The touching song is an tribute to a teacher who passed away in 2009 and reminiscent of her mother, Princess Lethuxolo.
“Memoriam is about any kind of loss, not just death,” said Toya. “It could be the loss of a relationship or even oneself. I sing about accepting things that are hard to bear. It’s like melodic medicine for the soul. Writing Memoriam was cathartic. It was a way for me to let go of the pain that I was burying deep inside,” she said. “I believe that God gives and God takes away and I’d like to believe that my mom is in a better place, rather than viewing it as a horrible tragedy. It’s this positive message that I was hoping to bring through my music.”
